Hybrid Battery Limited Warranty & Return Policy

This is separate from the 1-Year repair option warranty offered on some of our batteries. For this policy please see below.


While we strive for your complete satisfaction and will be happy to replace any faulty PriusKings battery during the warranty period, like all companies, we also must limit our liability to ensure sustainability and fairness in our services. By using our product, you accept our warranty, along with the associated liability restrictions and waiver of claims.

To request warranty service, please email Warranty@PriusKings.com with these five details:

  1. Customer Name and phone number

  2. Proof of purchase: please provide an image of original purchase receipt
    Please note that any warranty services require the original purchase receipt. This is the handwritten receipt given by the technician at the time of battery installation. This receipt serves as your warranty documentation and must be retained. PriusKings will offer no warranty service without this receipt. 

  3. Vehicle Identification Number /VIN

  4. Image of current odometer showing mileage

  5. Image of diagnostic codes or diagnostic report

To confirm a deficiency with the battery, all warranty claims must be verified by the OBDII diagnostic trouble codes. To acquire verification, your vehicle may be taken to any of the following to obtain OBDII diagnostic trouble codes:

  • Repair shop

  • Auto parts store

  • Dealership

Please include a copy of the report or a photo of the diagnostic trouble codes to Warranty@PriusKings.com

  • Upon determination of a battery failure within the warranty period and review of the diagnostic trouble codes, PriusKings will either repair or provide a replacement reconditioned battery (at PriusKings’ discretion) at no charge to the customer.

  • This limited warranty covers parts only. Installation fees will apply, and a travel fee will apply for  technicians to travel to vehicle location and will be calculated based on the distance traveled by the technician. To avoid a travel fee customer has option to travel to technician’s location.

  • PriusKings will not reimburse for diagnostic or towing expenses associated with any warranty claims.

  • Reported diagnostic trouble codes will be verified by our technicians before replacement battery is installed. If the codes reported do not match the codes retrieved the technician will perform a vehicle diagnostic and customer will be charged the diagnostic fee plus any associated travel fees. If the technician traveled to customer location the travel fee will apply regardless of outcome.

  • PriusKings will pay for any HV battery installation/removal fees incurred during repair or replacement within first 30 days of purchase during warranty period. After first 30 days of purchase any installation/removal fees are the customer’s responsibility and subject to standard rates. 

You may ship the battery along with a copy of your original order confirmation or other proof of purchase, your name, address, phone number, and description of the problem(s) to PriusKings. Please contact us at Warranty@priuskings.com for shipping guidelines and address. Upon receiving the battery, PriusKings will repair or replace your battery at PriusKings’ discretion.

PriusKings will pay for shipping to and from the customer only within the first thirty (30) days following the original product ship date. Following this 30-day period all shipping fees both for under warranty and post warranty service are the sole responsibility of the customer. The customer also assumes full liability for losses or damages resulting from shipping as well as all responsibility to pursue remuneration for such issues with their selected carrier. 

Warranty Terms

  • This limited warranty covers parts only. Installation fee and a travel fee will apply and will be calculated based on the distance traveled by the technician. To avoid a travel fee customer has option to travel to technician’s location.

  • PriusKings guarantees its product to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service.

  • The warranty period begins on the purchase date and continues until the end of the policy term specified on the invoice.

  • The hybrid battery must not be opened or tampered with in any way.

  • To prevent the hybrid battery from becoming depleted and eventually failing the vehicle must be operated for at least 45 minutes every 21 days.

  • The vehicle needs to be driven no less than 5,500 miles and no more than 20,000 miles annually during the warranty period. Mileage will be prorated from the battery installation date to ensure compliance.  

  • The warranty covers failures during normal vehicle operation only. It does not cover damage from accidents, water, extreme temperatures, excessive use, non-operation for over 30 days, customer modifications, or acts of God.

  • Diagnostic expenses or towing are not reimbursed under the warranty.

  • Warranty replacements require a diagnosis and diagnostic trouble codes from a repair shop or dealership.

  • The warranty does not cover failures due to improper installations by third parties, storage exceeding thirty (30) days, any damage occurring after the battery has been delivered to the customer, or shipping-related damages unless reported to the carrier at the time of delivery.

  • If a battery is determined to be defective in material, workmanship, or installation by PriusKings during the warranty period, PriusKings will either repair or provide a replacement (at PriusKings’ discretion) based on the diagnostic trouble codes indicating hybrid battery failure. However, batteries shipped to customers or third-party installers are not eligible for installation by PriusKings and will not be reimbursed for labor charges.

  • If payment is not made in full within 14 days from service the warranty will be deemed null and void.

  • Discrepancies and or evidence of inaccurate mileage between Carfax, the department of motor vehicles with jurisdiction, or other sources that are considered reliable.

Transfer of Warranty
This warranty is transferable, within twenty (20) days of vehicle sale. One (1) transfer is permitted per battery. Please mail a copy of the bill of sale,  the new registered owner’s driver’s license,  and vehicle registration to PriusKings within the 20 day period. Reselling the battery independently of the vehicle will void the warranty.

This product warranty becomes null and void under the following conditions:  

  • Improper installations conducted by individuals or businesses that are not PriusKings contracted installers 

  • Products stored for a period of thirty (30) days or more whether in the vehicle or out 

  • Physical damage caused after the delivery of the battery to the customer

  • Damages or defects that may have been caused by shipping, if accepted at delivery and not documented with the carrier 

  • Removal, tampering, or damage to warranty labels 

  • Any modification or bypass of vehicle systems not in congruence with manufacturer specifications 

  • Reinstallation of the HV battery into a different vehicle 

  • Poor vehicle maintenance – including engine failure to start or poor engine power

  • Conditions which discharge the hybrid battery due to the engine failing to start or properly run including inverter/ hybrid drive failure, the vehicle being run out of gas, and/or transaxle and head gasket failure

  • Vehicle conditions that may cause premature failure

  • Vehicle is totaled or written off due to an accident or other damage

  • Flooding, fire, or other damaging incident in which the batteries environment is compromised

  • Any condition beyond the control of PriusKings

Return of Product
A non-defective product may be returned to PriusKings within thirty (30) days of the original order date for a refund of the original purchase price with the following amendments/fees: 

  • PriusKings will refund neither the original shipping cost nor the shipping and handling fees incurred from the product’s return. 

  • No refund will be granted for products that have been opened, used, or tampered with in any way which jeopardizes PriusKings ability to remarket or resell the product. PriusKings maintains full discretion in decisions regarding a product’s fitness for return. 

  • Any non-defective returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee, which percentage is taken from the final purchase price less any shipping or handling charges. 

 By accepting this product, you hereby waive and release any claim now or hereafter existing against PriusKings, its employees, officers, directors, agents and customers, on account of any and all claims, demands, suits, causes of action and all legal proceedings, whether civil or criminal, damages, losses, liabilities (including, but not limited to, strict liability in tort), obligations, penalties, judgments or fines and other sanctions, and any costs and expenses in connection therewith, including legal fees and expenses of whatever kind and nature, which may result from or arise out of injury to or death or loss or damage to property or the loss of use of any property which may result from or arise out of the possession, condition, use or operation of this product. 

Repair Option With 1-Year Warranty
Hybrid Battery Limited Warranty

Some of our batteries only offer a repair option with the 1-year warranty. The temporary repair solution option includes a 1-year limited warranty on only the modules originally replaced by PriusKings at time of service. Within one (1) year of the original service date, PriusKings will replace only the modules that were originally replaced by the contracted technician during the initial service. This warranty covers parts only, and installation and travel fees will apply. To avoid a travel fee, customers have the option to travel to the technician’s location.

Warranty References
Your invoice serves as the official record of the warranty coverage for your hybrid battery purchase. Warranty terms cannot be applied retroactively and are not subject to change.
